You will find free online courses for self-learners at many of the world’s best colleges and universities via OpenCourseWare (OCW). You will be able to access core academic content such as lectures, notes and assignments.
Here are some renowned institutions that offer a wide variety of courseware through OCW. It is important to remember though that OCW courses do not award credit.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
MIT features at #7 on the U.S. News & World Report’s list of 2016’s top national universities, MIT has the highest number of OpenCourseWare choices, with more than 2,200 free courses. These courses cover a wide-ranging variety of topics and are available in many different languages. 2016’s most popular courses for self-paced learning include linear algebra, intro to psychology, physics and principles of microeconomics.
University of California, Berkeley
UC Berkeley offers webcasts of a vast rage of lectures and courses. All their courses are also archived so they can be accessed through on-demand play. Here, you will be able to find courses on everything from archeology to biomedical sciences. The university came in at #20 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 list of top national universities and was the #1 public school in the US.
The Open University
The Open University is UK’s largest university on the bass of enrollment. It hosts the Open Learn website which features a long list of over 800 free courses. Some of the subjects in which you will find free courses are history, business, education, art, law, computer science, foreign languages, society, math and technology.
Standford University
Standford University is home to courses on the plus side of 100, which are available in several formats. Students can sit through live classes available online called In Session courses. Subjects like game theory, machine learning, quantum mechanics, writing and genetics are just a few of the courses that are offered as In Session courses. Stanford stood 4th on U.S. News & World Report‘s 2016 list of top national universities.
